Travis Kelce attended the Kansas City Sports Awards on Tuesday. He looked chic in an all-black outfit – and caused quite a stir with his longer curls.
The Chiefs tight end wore a dark polo shirt to match his suit and paired his training camp mustache with a slicked-back hairstyle that left Swifties divided on social media.
“Travis’ hair looks like an oil tycoon from the 1890s,” joked one person on X (formerly Twitter). “Travis honey what happened to your hair,” lamented another.
However, some people valued the well-groomed look.
“Travis in his rich dad look era giving off vibes tonight like he bought a horse named after his billionaire girlfriend lol,” one person wrote – referring to Kelce’s new racehorse, aptly named Swift Delivery.
Teammate Patrick Mahomes recently revealed that it was Kelce’s girlfriend Taylor Swift who convinced the tight end to grow his hair longer.
The host of the “New Heights” podcast, who attended the ceremony alone, was seen leaving Swift’s Rhode Island home on a private jet late Monday night after spending two days with friends and family at her beachfront mansion.
A pool party, reportedly celebrating the singer’s return from the European leg of her Eras tour, was attended by friends including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Bradley Cooper and Gigi Hadid, as well as Jason and Kylie Kelce and Patrick and Brittany Mahomes, as well as some of the group’s children.
The 34-year-old tight end was honored as the Polsinelli Athlete of the Year at Tuesday’s banquet. Kathy Nelson, president and CEO of the Kansas City Sports Commission, wrote of all the honorees: “Together, these individuals and their organizations play a critical role in driving fan engagement, awareness and opportunity for Kansas City.”
Although Swift wasn’t present at the event, she certainly showed support for her boyfriend. The superstar appeared at 13 Chiefs games last year (including the Super Bowl), often wearing team merch and other symbolic apparel.
When the Chiefs face the Baltimore Ravens in their season opener on Thursday, September 5, Tayvis fans can be assured that the season will start with a bang.
