If you’re a fan of Law & Order: SVU and think the sex crime drama has become “woke” over the course of its 25 seasons, star Ice-T doesn’t care.
The rapper and actor sharply dismissed a fan’s question on Tuesday about whether the franchise would return to its roots, saying he believed the series had become too politically correct.
“Did they rewrite ‘SVU’ back to normal yet? It was starting to wake up,” wrote X-user Nicole T.
“What the fuck is woke?” Ice-T responded in a quote tweet. “Lol like I give a shit.”

The August 27 tweet that sparked his reaction was itself a response to an August 1 post by the entertainer in which he shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the filming of the new season of “SVU.”
“Seems like everyone is at the Olympics… I’m at work. SVU on location. Season 26,” he wrote at the time.

Ice-T will reprise his role as Odafin Tutuola when the series returns with season 26 on October 3. He has played the sergeant of the New York Police Department’s Special Victims Unit since season 2 in 2000. He returns alongside series star Mariska Hargitay.
Law & Order: SVU airs Thursday nights at 6 p.m. PST on NBC. The first episode will premiere on October 3 at 6 p.m. PST on NBC and will be available the next day on Peacock.
