Katja Herbers gives us new hope: Devilish is picked up for another season on Paramount+.
The star of the supernatural series has reignited the campaign to save the show after Stephen King expressed his approval on social media.
“There is a show called Devilish on Paramount+, I like that,” King said in an interview with PBS News. “It’s great. It’s funny and witty and very, very sharp.”
Herbers shared the clip of King’s interview and added, “Okay, can we move on now? Thank you, Stephen King.”
King then quoted Herber’s post, adding, “Intelligent, thought-provoking, occasionally VERY scary. Plus, the chemistry between the three villains is strong and… to quote Kamala… joyful.”
Co-author Robert King, who pointed out that he is not related to Stephen King, said that the author “comments on Devilish“ was “such an honor.”
Devilish is a psychological mystery that explores the origins of evil at the intersection of science and religion. The series was co-created by Robert King and Michelle King. Herbers played forensic psychologist Dr. Kristen Bouchard alongside actors such as Mike Colter, Aasif Mandvi, Kurt Fuller, Marti Matulis, Brooklyn Shuck, Sjylar Gray, Maddy Crocco, Dalya Knapp, Michael Emerson, Christine Lahti and many others.
The series premiered on CBS in 2019 before moving to Paramount+ for season 2 in 2021.
In February of this year, Paramount+ confirmed Devilish would end after four seasons, and four more episodes were ordered to conclude loose storylines.
After the series finale, Robert King said in an interview with Deadline that it feels like there will be two more seasons of the series.
“If we are victims of anything, it is the timing,” said Robert King about the end of Devilish. “Since the strike, but also since Wall Street reassessed the company, there’s obviously been a shift in attitude toward things. And as you probably know, there’s a reassessment at Paramount+ of what they’re doing, and the decision was made to end the show. And I think the popularity of the show really took off after some of those decisions were made.”
