AUSTIN -— Employees and members of Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) donated $10,000 to the Dell Children’s Medical Center (DCMC) Foundation.
This brings PEC’s total contribution to the foundation since 1996 to $100,000, according to a press release. The funds came from PEC’s United Charities, where employees donate a portion of their salaries each month, and from PEC’s Employee Giving Corporate Matching Program, funded by PEC’s Power of Change, in which members round up their charitable bills to the nearest dollar.
“Caring for our community is core to PEC, and we are thrilled to support Dell Children’s in its mission to improve the lives and health of Central Texas children,” said Celeste Mikeska, PEC Public Relations Manager. “This donation exemplifies our collaborative spirit and shows that when we all give a little, we can make a big impact. We hope to inspire even more members and staff to experience the joy of giving back.”
Donations to the DCMC Foundation help fund medical care, research, education, and programs for Central Texas pediatric patients and their families.
“Partners like Pedernales Electric Cooperative truly embody what it means when a community comes together for an important cause. They challenge their employees to support Dell Children’s and provide their members with a way to pay their bills,” said Megan Campuzano, Senior Director of Annual Giving for the Dell Children’s Foundation. “We are grateful for their partnership, which helps ensure Dell Children’s can provide world-class care to families right here at home.”
