TUCSON, Arizona (13 News) – A man faces attempted murder charges following a brutal stabbing at a home near Stone and Mohave in Tucson on Monday, August 26.
Tucson police said 23-year-old Caid Ryan Stough was arrested following an incident of domestic violence against the mother of his children.
According to the preliminary complaint, Stough and the victim lived together, but their relationship recently ended.
Stough told investigators he believed the victim was cheating on him and an argument ensued.
Stough said the victim grabbed a knife, but he took it away from her and admitted to stabbing her multiple times.
He told investigators that he believed he had killed her and that he could not live with what he had done, so he slit his throat.
Stough’s father told investigators that his son called him after the attack and said he believed he had killed the victim.
The woman, whose identity is unknown, was taken to a local hospital with seven to eight stab wounds to her neck and upper body.
Stough is being held on $1 million bail and is currently in the Pima County Jail’s medical observation unit after attempting suicide following the attack.
