EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville women’s soccer team returns to Arad McCutchan Stadium after its first away game of 2024.
The UE women’s soccer team returns home after a tough 4-1 loss to Western Kentucky on Sunday night. The Aces rotated their starting lineup from game one to game two and rotated many players throughout the game. Evansville actually scored its first goal of the young season on Sunday night. Redshirt sophomore Paige Radel scored her first collegiate goal in the 68th minute. Radel found the bottom right corner of the net after a long cross from Autenrieb, scoring the Aces’ only goal.
Lindenwood enters Thursday’s game with a 2-2-0 season record, with wins over Belmont and IU Indy. The Lions are fresh off a 3-0 loss to Kansas City. Currently, Lindenwood is led offensively by sophomore forward Anna Johnson with two goals and four points. This will be the first game in program history between UE and the Lions. The two teams never met in a preseason game before Lindenwood moved from Division II to Division I in 2022.
After two weeks of play this season, Evansville is the second-best fouler in the country, committing just 4.00 fouls per game. The Aces have only had eight fouls called without receiving a card. UE is also in the top three in the country in shot accuracy. Of the 12 shots Evansville has taken in 180 minutes, 75% have found their way on goal. The Aces are just ahead of fellow MVC team Belmont, which ranks fourth in the country.
