Ahead of British Lion’s first tour stops in Australia and New Zealand, the Everblack Podcast spoke to Iron Maiden founder and bassist Steve Harris about upcoming tours, new music and more. Listen below.
When asked if new Iron Maiden music is in the works, Steve replies: “No, not at the moment. There’s nothing in the works at the moment. But that doesn’t mean there won’t be any.”
He adds: “Bruce (Dickinson) just finished his solo tour, so he’s spent quite a bit of time doing that. So, I don’t know. Yeah, I mean, maybe we’ll find time to squeeze one in somewhere. You never know.”
British Lion’s Australia and New Zealand dates begin in Perth on August 31st with dates in Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and a stop in Auckland, New Zealand on September 15th. The band then returns to Japan for the first time in six years with performances in Osaka and Tokyo before returning to the US for their long-awaited West Coast live debut with performances at Brick By Brick in San Diego on October 3rd, the world-famous Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles on October 7th and an appearance at the Aftershock Festival in Sacramento on October 10th. With the exception of British Lion’s appearance at Aftershock, Tony Moore’s Awake will be the special guest on all dates.
“We’re so excited to be playing our first ever shows in Australia and New Zealand,” says Steve Harris. “We’ve been to the US before, but this is our first time on the West Coast! And to top it all off,” Harris continues, “we’ll also be returning to Japan to finish off what we’re sure will be an amazing tour! We look forward to seeing you all on the road!”
