In an unexpected turn of events, Tejano music legend Little Joe and the family had to cancel his eagerly awaited appearance at the opening of the Z Venue in Victoria, Texas, scheduled for Saturday, August 31. The cancellation is Little Joe continues to recover from an emergency heart procedure he underwent on August 22, which successfully resulted in a stent being implanted. According to a statement shared on Little Joe Y La Familia’s social media, “Joe will officially cancel his performance on Saturday, August 31 at Z Venue in Victoria, Texas to continue to recover from his procedure.” His doctors have prescribed two weeks of rest to ensure a full recovery.
Against this background, another icon of Tejano music, Ruben Ramos and the Mexican Revolutionwill take the place. Ruben Ramos expressed his excitement in a statement, saying: “It’s been a while since we’ve been to Victoria, but we want all our friends to come and see us!”
Z Venue, described as a “free venue for any occasion” and located at 2804 N. Laurent in Victoria, Texas, also commented on the change. “BITTERSWEET! We were so excited to have Little Joe Y La Familia back in Victoria but unfortunately he can’t come BUT… Little Joe put us in touch with Ruben Ramos and The Mexican Revolution and they will be performing at Z Venue! The show must go on! We can’t wait to welcome you all. Anyone who wants a refund will get one.”
Advance tickets are $25 Cash and only available at Mr Gatti’s in Victoria. A very limited number of VIP tables at the side of the stage are available for $250 and seat eight. If tickets are still available on the day of the show, they will be $30 at the door. Doors open at 7:30pm.
